Do you have a family 'yell'?
Some distinctive sound to get their attention in a crowded, noisy area?
We do, and I have no idea how it started.
"Hey" doesn't work.
Everybody says "Hey".
"Yo" is pretty common too.

We use "Ebb" (as in ebb tide) in a fairly high-pitched tone.
EHBBB

This combination of a vowel and consonant, spoken loudly, usually cuts through the chatter and noise of a grocery store, cocktail party, whatever.

On reflection, it may have started when Miz t. called out to me in an airport.
HONEY!!!
Four guys stopped and turned around.

Of course when you shout EHBB in a crowded area many look at you, but the ones in my family always look.
It's our family 'yell'.
:-)
