2. Not as much as I want to.
We always have so much fun together. But we're all off living our lives.

4. Used to be closer, but...
just not a lot in common between us now.

They are all married w/families and cubicle jobs. I'm still single, self-employed musician...the black sheep, if you will.

Plus, most of them have moved far away.

5. My mom's side of the family- holidays. Dad's side- weddings and funerals.
My grandparents on my Dad's side are now gone, and they were the ones who got everyone together for the holidays, so now I barely see them.

6. I'd love to spend more time with my cousins. The problem is distance.
A third of them live in Colorado, another third live in Ohio, and the last third live in Florida. So, I really only see those cousins every couple of years. It's a shame, too, because we're all a little insane, so it's a lot of fun to hang out with the whole family. :)

7. Ditto. Very cool cousins but way far away.
Interesting following their life tracks. Skew/parallel what with that half consanguinity.

12. I have more cousins now...or know of them...than when I was
young. I've met quite a few on the internet through genealogy research, and we keep in touch. Most are second cousins or first cousins once removed, but I even found a first cousin of my mother's she never knew was born (and she's almost 50 now I think).
We use Facebook and email and have become genuinely affectionate.

And I'm meeting up with most of my first cousins next month for the first time since a funeral in 1990. We're all going out to lunch at a central location. Makes me very happy. Nothing beats family. Nothing.

19. Now that we're adults, weddings and funerals
When I was little, I had a million cousins. Family gatherings were kid-laden pandemonium. They're still out there, but don't ask me where. I run into them in the supermarket occasionally.

I miss my mom's brother's grandkids especially; we grew up together but now we never see one another, even though two them are still in the area and the third is only a few hours away.
