screed (skreed) –noun 1. a long discourse or essay, especially a diatribe. 2. an informal letter, account, or other piece of writing.
My definition: 3. a finger-wagging, in writing, to my kid's stoopid elementary school
This is the third year I've received a "parent input placement form", wherein I am invited to share my hopes and dreams for my kid's placement the following year--which teacher he will get, and what said teacher will focus on for my child. It is a document that I have taken great pains to complete with carefully considered, well-thought-out comments every year. It is also a document that is soundly ignored EVERY. FRIGGIN'. YEAR.
So this year I wrote a lovely screed. It made me feel better, and it will achieve the same result, I suspect. Unless my screed startles them into activity. Which would be nice.
Who knew that having a child with no diagnosed issues would mean he's been relegated to the role of "seat filler" ("Oh, just put MG Jr. anywhere; he'll be fine")... :banghead:
