3. This is one of my best
I was visiting a friend in Marin County CA, driving around, hilly area, lots of houses built very, very close to the road. I turn to my buddy and ask "the houses are so close to the road, where do they push the snow in the winter?" My friend just stares at me. "oh," I say. "duh," I say. Not one of my finer moments.

6. The bicycle wheel
I had walked to the bike shop with a bicycle rim that needed to be fixed.

Before picking up the fixed wheel, I had lunch with two friends. My bike was in the back of one of my friend's car - he needed to pick up his drums, which were near the bike shop. My other friends also drove to lunch.

I tried to convince the second friend to meet me at the bike shop as there wouldn't be room for both my friend's drums and my bike, and I didn't want to have to carry my fixed bicycle all the way home.

7. I won't say much
I had a crazy fantasy one time when I was 14(real young), it involved me getting into some major trouble. I won't say much more then that, but I have to say that was the dumbest though I ever had.

8. In middle school
AIDS was just really starting to be talked about nationally, and in health class, the teacher was going over some of the ways you couldn't get infected - like from kissing or eating something that someone with AIDS had because it wouldn't be able to survive the stomach acid, and I thought (and said) why not just pump stomach acid into the bloodstream of an infected person? Pretty sad since I was the school brain... I think I had an off week.

9. at age 14
We decided that if we lit a 2 litre bottle of lacuer(sp) thinner at the spout, it would be like a big blow-torch - my buddy Darrell was at the centre of a fireball - it's a miracle he wasn't hurt.

10. "There's no point." "Why bother?" "I'll just play this game for an hour"
The only thing more foolish than hope is hopelessness, but in this country, in this world, at this time, it's almost impossible not to give oneself (or at least myself) over to it.
