Any Phoebe Snow fans here?

Her first album came out in September 1974, the month I started college. It became part of the soundtrack of my college years, and is still IMO a perfect album - not a bad track on it. I wore out, lost, and gave away several copies over the years, and it was the second album I bought on CD when I got a player in 1990.

An amazing album. "Poetry Man" - "Harpo's Blues" - "Either Or Both" - "I Don't Want The Night To End" - "Take Your Children Home" - "It Must Be Sunday" - "No Show Tonight" - "Good Times" - "San Francisco Bay Blues". The CD I got also has "Easy Street", which wasn't on the original LP but was the B-side of the "Poetry Man" single.

Any other Phoebe phans?

Many albums are still stacked up in my closet and I now repurchased what is out on CD. I love "Poetry Man".

She also does a lot of writing and producing w/ Quincy Jones.

5. Don't be sorry!
I envy you for the first time you hear her.

Singer-songwriter from Greenwich Village in NYC. Broke onto the scene in the early 70s. As noted above, released her first LP in 1974. The single "Poetry Man" hit the top 5 that fall. She was nominated for a best new artist Grammy the following year. Recorded and toured on and off over the next decades. Toured with Donald Fagen's Rock And Soul Revue. Had a hit single with Paul Simon, "Gone At Last". Does lots of music for TV commercials and won Clio awards for it. Most memorable: "Celebrate the moments of your life" for General Foods International Coffees.

6. always checked new g/f's record collection and knew...
...when you saw artists like Joni Mitchell and Phoebe Snow you'd found a kind, sensitive woman.
i felt very badly for her when her child was born with severe handicaps and she basically had to put her career on the shelf. fans' loss but what a mom!

10. I'm a fan.
Saw her perform at UC Davis. Don't have any CD's now. I think she did an album dedicated to the child. She sang about the baby as a blessing.

12. absolutely!
Her version of "Good Times" is not to be missed. It is one of my tried & true CD's that I play when I need a lift. "Two Fisted Love" is another one that stands out.
