You gotta help me figure out a movie title; driving me crazy
It was one of those bad post-apocalpytic type movies, sort of Mad maxish but without the production values, set in a post-Atomic (I think) America (or perhaps some other country) with lots of outdoors and busted buildings and guns and stuff.

There were also nuns.

And the title had the year in it - like 2002, or 2200, or 2210, sonme four digit number, and I think the title also includes the word "nun", but I can't be certain on that. And the title also had a word equating with death: maybe death, or kill, or massacre, or rape, or something terrible word like that.

I did an IMDB serach on "nun" and after looking at a few hundred titles, and knowing there were thousands more to go, I gave up.

Any idea what movie I'm talking about?

3. No, not that
that one I know.

This was a movie made in the early 80s (maybe late 70s at the earliest, but I'm pretty sure it was early 80s), and I don't think it ever made it to the cinema. I only saw it on videotape.

It might have had "Texas" in the title, which your mention of New York reminds me. But let me go check IMDB and see if perhaps this one isn't it.

on edit: nope, that's not it

it definitely involved nuns, and I think had a rape scene of a nun, or perhaps even a group of nuns

Yep - that's the one indeed!

I had just found it at this site:

http://www.christiankessler.de/donalob.html

Around the same time, Massaccesi cast him (Donal) as the evil tyrant of TEXAS 2000 aka 2020 TEXAS GLADIATORS, another variant on the MAD MAX movies. This film was a very violent affair indeed. "I remember that they had this wonderful effect for my demise, with my skull being cracked open by an axe. They had photos of this stunning effect made, but then decided to change it because they thought it was just too much." Pity. Actually, most of this movie was shot by genre veteran George Eastman (Luigi Montefiori), who is now rumored to own an Italian restaurant in Florida! This man, who has to be one of the tallest and strongest Italian actors around, started his career with some westerns and even appeared in Fellinis SATYRICON, as the Minotaur! In the seventies and eighties he proved himself adept in a vast range of roles, eventually turning director in DNA FORMULA LETALE that boasts a climax reminiscent of THE ALLIGATOR PEOPLE. Some parts of TEXAS 2000 were reportedly shot by assistant Michele Soavi, who has become one of the best Italian horror directors, one of the great hopes for genre cinema in this country.

I suddenly, because of another post about movies, had that movie pop into my head and it was TOTALLY driving me crazy not being able to remember the name.

So, thanks again!
