Something you don't want to know.
If all someone knew about the spiritual was the most often told story, like the beginning stories.

And they were in terrible confusion, being distracted or confused,
And they were trying to be seen,
where would you find them.

1. It makes it tough to find a new beginning
Or to refinance your mortgage.

5. Out on that Great Western Highway...
American Beauty II (lyrics by Summer)

You know Joe, he's a hard workin' guy
He hates his life, but he don't wanna die
Went to school, but he didn't go far
Wants to be rich so he can drive a sports car
and buy a plane.

He ain't no fool, he gets the scoop from Fox News
and the shrill angry choir, paid to keep him confused
Believes in Church, and America, too
Ain't no real difference but he knows it's all true
just the same.

It's all Right
but it's so wrong
And who are we, to say, you say
Cause it's their life
their same old song

But it's always children who pay.

Ride with Joe down that Great Western Highway
Round and round
and round and round you'll go.
This road gets paved with good intentions every day
and where it ends, you don't wanna know
you don't wanna go

Something is wrong, but he doesn't know why
His distant voices they grow quiet late at night
And he feels sorry, when he cheats on his wife
He thinks she don't know, and that makes it alright.
But she knows
how well she knows

Don't take that ride down that Great Western Highway
Round and round
and round and round you'll go.
This road gets paved with good intentions every day
and where it ends, you don't wanna know
you don't wanna go

9. I do want to know.
How could I change it if I did not know the problems that poem speaks of.

On a side note, that poem is wrong. Good intentions mean more then good actions, the only error that can occur is lack of knowledge and education.

So the only people that think good intentions are bad, are also those that are willfully ignorant, making the perception of that statement make sense.

That poem flatters the ostrich, a flightless bird, with his head in the sand, and lacks the courage to learn, to be able to make the outcomes better.

10. One of the beauties of art is that so many people have different interpretations
of what an artist is saying through their art.

Some completely understand the references and meanings within a work of art, and ultimately, the literal intentions of the artist.

And some miss the point altogether.

As most every artist discovers over time, those that miss the point altogether are very often critics.

It's all good.

Any artist that expects everyone to like their work should definitely not quit their day job.
