2. That was cruel
Getting dildo catalogs is hip. Fat girl catalogs are another story entirely.

<sigh>

6. Then I sincerely apologize.
I do not mean to be cruel, ever.
The dildo thing was actually in a Lillian Vernon catalog.
Right along with the elevated toilet seats and the wheeled walkers fo9r us seniors.
Oh, and the VIBRATORS!
For 'soothing'.

11. I just got one for Neptune Society
A man's face, with his wife's blurry in the background- "I just want cremation."
It says they'll show you how to "only pay $50.00 a month for this pre-paid plan."
(Just toss me overboard, thank you.)

I was going to be dumped off into the Gulf until the BP spill so I've arranged to go into a true communist arrangement instead. Cheap.

18. Maybe they've gotten better
But they must have to have the clothes remade to fit the models - and it is not a fair representation of how the clothes will look on the person they are intended for.

12. Just once I want a bra catalog advertising a product that would hold up a real pair of boobs.
Edited on Sun May-22-11 11:49 PM by davsand
I get those stupid catalogs that show some woman with two fried eggs hanging there in an A cup bra, and it pisses me off.

I buy concrete and steel construction with architectural integrity and it sure doesn't look like that A cup made with a strip of lace and two little triangles that skinny bitch is wearing in that catalog.

Just saying.

Laura

22. A friend of mine was horrified to find junk mail addressed to her 3 week old daughter
Somebody had ordered a gift from Lillian Vernon or some such thing and a few days after the gift arrived, so did a catalogue bearing her name. I suggested keeping it as a momento.

30. That's great that there's someone
for anyone. However, I had been so thin all my life, until I hit 55 & menopause, that my self image is really in the toilet. I can't bear the thought of anyone seeing me. Sad but true. Besides, I'm too lazy for a relationship. :P

32. Hi lillpaddle. I'm swimming in there with you, for the same
reasons, PLUS I just made a career change at the wrong time in US history...got my teaching degree Dec 2008, summa cum laude. Such exquisite timing! So now instead of making the $55k I used to make, I substitute teach for poverty level income (less than $18k a year). That does wonders for the ego of someone who is inflating, sagging, wrinkling, and getting all those funny little brown spots everywhere. Sigh. I love my recent entrance into the world of Grandma, but never thought I'd look like one, LOL.

PS: if you hear that I am buying or selling a house, do the OPPOSITE of whatever I'm doing.......because the market will suddenly dive or rocket up, whichever is least to my advantage. My timing has been so horrible all my life, I think that it might be MY fault teachers are being laid off!

34. I'm right there with you, my dear.
I got a flier addressed to me from The Foundry big and tall (aka fat) men's store.

I'm curious as to whether they got my name from recent clothing purchases, (are they selling size information now?) or from what I buy from the grocery store. (Beer and frozen pizza are fundamental to the FDA nutrition pyramid despite what they claim.)
