FARMINGTON -- While the state has yet to officially cancel any events involving horses that might have been exposed to a local recent equine herpes outbreak, owners and arenas are taking precautions.

6. Herpes in horses is deadly serious
an outbreak struck the famed Lipizzaners some years ago, back when herpes was big news among humans. Some comic said "Remember, even nice horses can get the disease".
