Why did Bullet replace Wolf as Roy Rogers’ dog?
I was a huge Roy Rogers fan as a kid in the early 1950s, and I remember when Wolf was Roy’s dog. Later, Bullet was. I don’t remember what happened to Wolf, or if he was just renamed Bullet. Anyone know?

1. Sorry, Frogmarch. But do you remember when mom told you Wolf moved to a "farm"?

3. He grabbed one of Roy's roast beef sandwiches off of the table - BAD dog - BAD dog.

6. If that's what happened,
I suppose there was a cover-up story describing how Wolf gave his life to save Roy from bad guys. If so, I missed it.

I think Wolf actually ate at the table with Roy, and had very good pickings. :-)

4. So, just where does Phantom fit into the timeline?

7. I'm 67 but
don't remember Phantom. I didn't move to America till 1950, so maybe that's why the name Phantom doesn't ring a bell. Thanks for telling me about him!

I wonder if Roy had different dogs for each studio at which he made movies - or something like that.

10. Bullet started in films in 1948
and he was uncredited until the TV series started.

8. I don't think Wolf was
around for long before Bullet replaced him, but my friends and I missed Wolf and wondered where he'd gone. If the Internet had been around back then, maybe we wouldn't have grown up not knowing. It was a big deal to us.
