Dear Sleeping Beauty


Riding the soft morning breeze
As silently as the hawk
As swiftly as the eagle
He slips in to leave a note
Telling her of his thoughts
Not to scare her
Nor put her in her place.
That she has touched him gently
And wishes to be touched more
To learn more of her gentle soul
For it is a wonder to behold.
To tell her his thoughts
May work for one
But maybe not for everyone
If they help her on her journey
She is welcome to them
For if she wishes
He will share more.
That he walks his path alone
But welcomes anyone to join
For it is good to walk a ways
With a friend.
With one last glance
At her sleeping face
He silently slips
Upon the morning breeze.
With dew on the grass
The early sun raising
He feels a gentle touch
On his beating heart
Hoping for a good day.
