College football fans: Try not to be shocked
But Terrell Pryor isn't going to be back at Ohio State for his senior year:

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=6636768

It is in the best interests of his teammates, he says, to forego his last season, avoid serving his little suspension, and instead will shop around to see what NFL or Canadian Football League team will offer him the most money. Solely for his teammates, you understand. Pryor will receive no personal satisfaction in running away from his responsibilities and seeking the fattest payday. Oh, and he doesn't want to be a distraction, either. Has Pope Benedict been informed of Pryor's selfless actions? Is it possible for him to be beatified as a prospective saint even before he dies?

4. You'll have a better chance since you canned that shitty coach you hired awhile back.
Hope your new coach turns out better.

2. How much was he to be paid to play for OSU?
How much would he be paid if he suffers a career - ending injury in his "senior year"?

3. It's almost hard to believe.
As a Badger fan, this just makes another trip to Pasadena a little more likely.

5. college sports are such a fucking joke anyway.
Let's just call them semi-pros, and let them keep all the pay, hookers, gifts, and other stuff they're getting under the table but bring it above the table and be honest about the whole scam.

6. Will they now invalidate their win the BCS Bowl they played?
Since he had to promise to come back to serve his suspension?

I wish this wasn't flowing with :sarcasm:

7. I think that's what bothers me the most
In spite of knowing that there had been misconduct, in spite of knowing who was involved and how deeply, the NCAA still let the violators play in their BCS Bowl, because . . . Well, why exactly? Because this was a just reward? Because suspending the violators for the big game wouldn't be fair to the rest of the team? Because big money was at stake? Because the NCAA doesn't like to piss off football factories that make so much money for them? USC is finally going to pay a price for cheating in the early part of the last decade. Ohio State will eventually get theirs, but until then? The violators get off scot-free and there's nothing the NCAA is inclined to do about it.
