Visiting Puerto Rico, any suggestions?
Aside from the Ron Del Barrilto rum plant and the umpteen local cigar rollers, where should I go, what should I do, see, eat, drink, AVOID?

1. Arecibo. Check out for alien radio stations.
Some whimsical fire station, (forgotten where)

And the fort.

Also see Iris Chacón, rest of trip will be forgotten!

2. Visit the Rain Forest
On the east side of the island. It's incredible. Do one of the hikes. Also, visit the city of Ponce on the south coast. Very beautiful town. Well worth the trip.

5. The fire station is in Ponce
Parque de Bombas is a historic firehouse building in Ponce, Puerto Rico. It is one of Puerto Rico's most notable buildings, with some considering it "by far the most easily recognized landmark in the Island".<2> It is located at the Plaza Las Delicias town square, directly behind the Ponce Cathedral.

6. Be sure to try the Mofongo
It's the national dish of Puerto Rico. Basically mashed fried plantains with garlic. Sometimes it's a side dish and sometimes it's the main course.
