Am I the only person who does not believe in Love?
People have been talking about this thing called love. It has become a totally foreign concept to me.

1. I usually believe in it for awhile.
Then find myself getting the mental/emotional equivalent of an ice cold bucket of water dumped over my head to wake me up.

6. I believe in it whole heartedly
But I oftentimes of late have been compelled to believe that it is for other people. I think we all often confuse conditional love with unconditional love. Therein, is where most of the trouble arises.

Oscar Wilde once described "Hell" as "being surrounded by beauty and not knowing love." Reading that once knocked me off my chair.

Certainly love of family and friends is one thing, but to be isolated largely through heightened technology and to sadly become removed from intimacy is another.

3. the song is cool, too bad i dont actuially believe...
...in a thing called love.

I Believe In A Thing Called Love Lyrics by 'The Darkness'

Can't explain all the feelings that you're making me feel
My heart's in overdrive and you're behind the steering wheel

Touching you, touching me
Touching you god you're touching me

I believe in a thing called love
Just listen to the rhythm of my heart
There's a chance we could make it now
We'll be rocking 'til the sun goes down
I believe in a thing called love
Ooh!

I wanna kiss you every minute, every hour, every day
You got me in a spin but everything is A.O.K!

Touching you, touching me
Touching you god you're touching me

I believe in a thing called love
Just listen to the rhythm of my heart
There's a chance we could make it now
We'll be rocking 'til the sun goes down
I believe in a thing called love
Ooh! Guitar!

Touching you, touching me
Touching you god you're touching me,OOooow!!!!!

I believe in a thing called love
Just listen to the rhythm of my heart
There's a chance we could make it now
We'll be rocking 'til the sun goes down
I believe in a thing called love
Ooh!

4. Oh, I believe in love..
..I believe it's the weakest, most pathetic emotion on the planet. :) Never forget...love is a four-letter word!

8. I agree with you there.
When you love, you are only setting yourself up for disappointment.

7. I used to be.
Until I kept getting the proverbial buckets of cold water dumped on me. Then the only women who were ever interested in me were either out to play games with me or wanted to run my life. This had changed everything for me over time.

12. I don't benefit from that either.
I don't think there has ever been anyone who has been attracted to me except psychos.

10. doesn't matter if you believe in it or not . . .
it exists despite what any individual may personally believe . . . in fact, love is one of the two true emotions that humans experience, the other being fear . . . all positive "emotions", or feelings, flow from the former, all negative from the latter . . .

11. No...
At least in reference to myself. I don't do relationships anymore because I got tired of flunking them (there weren't that many) and I'm now old enough to be set in my ways and probably proud of it. I do think it's great when someone I care about finds "that special person."

14. I don't know if love exists or not, but I'm done wasting my time with it.
You'd be amazed how much time and disposable income you have when you stop worrying about society's endless pressure to pair off and saddle yourself with kids.

15. Your ability to love yourself determines how much you can love another.
Not to be preachy but loving another human being without some reservoir of love already inside you is probably quite difficult. It's kind of like expecting a blind man to explain colors.

I have had as much heartbreak as I can possibly stand but when it comes again I'll be ready and willing to ride that pony again, there is nothing in the world like it.
Peace
