2. Not totally sure, but Iowa is pretty open - I think anytime after 10AM
is Miller time.
We have gone from the dryest of the dry to the wettest of the wet in my lifetime. It has been an evolution.
Now I believe you can buy beer most days from 7AM to 2AM and Sundays 10AM to midnight or so.
If not correct it is close.

Used to be NO BEER ON SUNDAY. My old man used to buy 3 or 4 cases on Saturdays.
My Dad used to be in a constant fight with the state liquor laws. He knew every damn trick in the book.
Everybody who wanted to buy bottled alcohol would have to apply to the state liquor commission to get a book that would allow a person to get I think one bottle/week.
- So my Dad would pay his non-drinking friends to get books and either give him the book or go make purchases for him.
- The old guys behind the counter who were supposed to watch for such shenanigans knew my Dad variously as "Bob", Don",Denny" etc.

5. Michigan's just changed. One of Granholm's last laws, IIRC.
Sorry, I don't actually drink, so I don't pay all that much attention. But the law just took effect I believe sometime in late March/early April. Used to be no sales on Sundays until Noon. Now, retailers can pay extra to the state to extend the license and start selling at 7:00 AM on Sundays. The vast majority of the stores I've been in such as Kroger and Meijer grocery stores, the various chain drug stores, etc., all have signs posted saying they can now sell alcohol at 7:00 AM, so I guess the market is lucrative enough on Sunday mornings to make it worthwhile. IIRC, the permit/license extension wasn't cheap, something like $5,000 to $15,000 depending upon the sales volume of the retailer. I don't know how this law affects bars and restaurants -- can they now serve Mimosas with Sunday brunch?

27. It depends on the county/city, just as it is here in SC.
Some counties are dry on Sunday. In mine, up until a several of years ago, one couldn't buy liquor at all. Then, we were allowed to buy beer or wine on in restaurants in my city. A few years ago, they changed the city laws to allow the sale of beer and wine in stores with permits. I think it became county-wide last year. The laws were changed because restaurant and grocery store/quickie-mart owners were complaining that they were losing business to establishments in nearby Augusta, GA (Richmond & Columbia Counties), which permitted alcohol sales on Sundays.

I do believe one can buy alcohol on Sundays in the Atlanta area--at least in DeKalb County. And, I KNOW you can get a drink in Savannah on a Sunday, because I have done so.

In Richmond Co., GA, you can buy beer and wine in stores on Sunday. I'm not positive about Columbia Co., but I'm pretty sure you can there, as well.

Most of the state control booze shops open at 10am on Sundays -- if you want the hard stuff. Beer and wine can be sold thru any licensed store from 6am to 1am any day. So if you want to start your day right, come to NH.

Liquor and wine just got the 12-5 sales a few years ago as well.

We've got some bars that open at 7 every day of the week - graveyard shift customers need beer too.

40. No beer or wine until noon on Sunday.
This is Texas.

Hard liquor is only sold in liquor stores. It is not sold in grocery stores. The hard liquor stores are closed on Sunday, and close at 9 pm on all other days. I'm not sure when they open.

Once I needed to get some booze for a hot drink for my sore throat. I didn't realize the liquor stores close at 9 pm, since I'm not a drinker.

My county recently went wet for beer and wine for off-premises consumption. That's called a "beverage cartage" permit.

We have to drive to the next county for the hard stuff. I marinate herbs in 151 rum.

42. NC GS § 18B‑1004 Except as otherwise provided in this section, it shall be unlawful to sell
malt beverages, unfortified wine, fortified wine, or mixed beverages between the hours of 2:00 A.M. and 7:00 A.M., or to consume any of those alcoholic beverages between the hours of 2:30 A.M. and 7:00 A.M., in any place that has been issued a permit under G.S. 18B‑1001 ... Sunday Hours. – It shall be unlawful to sell or consume alcoholic beverages on any licensed premises from the time at which sale or consumption must cease on Sunday morning until 12:00 Noon on that day .. A city may adopt an ordinance prohibiting in the city the retail sale of malt beverages, unfortified wine, and fortified wine during any or all of the hours from 12:00 Noon on Sunday until 7:00 A.M. on the following Monday. A county may adopt an ordinance prohibiting, in the parts of the county outside any city, the retail sale of malt beverages, unfortified wine, and fortified wine during any or all of the hours from 12:00 Noon on Sunday until 7:00 A.M. on the following Monday. Neither a city nor a county, however, may prohibit those sales in establishments having brown‑bagging or mixed beverages permits.

Hard liquor here is only through state store, closed Sundays. Last I looked, we had some dry counties. I think the above says beer sales must cease from 2AM Sunday to noon Sunday, and city/county may further prohibit sales between noon Sunday til 7AM Monday (except for brown‑bagging or mixed beverages permitees)
