2. Holst doesn't have the recognition he deserves
I read that he was rehearsing this piece for its premiere, the cleaning women in the hall stopped what they were doing and started to dance to it.

I first heard "The Planets" when I was a little kid as a musical backdrop to a wonderful documentary video on the solar system narrated by Isaac Asimov. "Jupiter" is my favorite score, followed by "Saturn".

The beginning of "Jupiter" is also the theme tune of a children's science show on PBS my 2nd grade teacher had us watch every Tuesday at 10AM.

4. Did you know the hymn like center melody has lyrics?
This one is right up there with Jerusalem and Elgar's Nimrod (Lux Aeterna) as England's favorite hymn

5. I had a cassette of the London Symphony Planets
That I used to blare in my car stereo with the windows down with my band geek friends in the car.

I used to like Mars and Jupiter more, but I think that currently Neptune is my favorite. The chorus at the end is spine-tingling.
