4. Agreed...
I only wish thay would stream with Windows Media Player, in addition to Real. My office computer is not equipped with Real, and I like to stream at work.

10. Try this site for streaming
http://www.wlib.com/new_lib/indexf2.html
RockNation posted this site when I asked about Real Player. We have had a long and unpleasant history with Real Player and I was reluctant to put it on the machine again but wanted to listen in real time instead of the delay play I get from the Portland station online.

RockNation, if your watching... muchas gracias. That site is great, works with my windows media player without a hitch AND I look forward to listening to their music too as I love that sort of music! I live in an area where radio is one static filled station playing country western. Web stream radio saves my sanity!

5. I absolutely love it!
watched a few minutes of the O'Reilly factor last night and he was talking to a new conservative radio show host. He made a comment that the liberals were basically a bunch of immature, name-calling folks (I'm paraphrasing) after calling Franken a "vile" person! If he's going to contradict himself, he should at least wait until the next episode, or even segment!!

In addition, O'Reilly was talking to this man about how much publicity Air America has received, but this man remains largely obscure. Well, DUH! How often does liberal radio go on the air??? We've been forced to listen to conservative talk radio for years now, naturally when liberal radio was beginning (last week) there would be a lot of talk about it. I agree with what they said last week on Air America, we (liberal minded people) are the majority. We've just never had a voice loud enough to make that known. Now that the voice is starting to come forward, conservatives are running scared. Their made-up majority will clearly be seen for what it is: a rather small minority of the American population.

:hi:

6. I love it, flaws and all
They'll be getting their sea legs for awhile yet, but it is just so great to hear one guest after another whose views don't make me spit in contempt or lunge for the remote (common reactions to watching TV news channels).

11. I love it!
Mostly I've listened to Franken and Randi, but I also adored The Liberal Agenda as dictated by Barbara Streisand on the morning show.

I think the humor works wonderfully, and the guests have been fabulous! I never thought I'd hear Al Gore confront (politely) Michael Moore about the 2000 election.

12. Love it!

Listen to it whenever I'm in front of the computer, and even researched XM radio, as it would be nice to listen to it in the car, and on the big stereo system in the house. I haven't made a decision yet, but I'm considering it, when I've never considered it before.

For me, it's weird listening to AA. Listening to truth about the republicans over the airwaves is so foreign to me I almost feel like a kid with her hand in the cookie jar - afraid of being busted! It's weird not hearing how "liberals" are the spawn of satan. It's like AA turned my world upside down!

13. the world is gonna become a better place now that there is an alternative
to all hate all the time. Even where I live, I can almost hear people thinking "hmmmmm, how come we've never heard about this stuff before now?'

So nice to have something else on the air for contrast so we can say, "See, the media isn't liberal and elitist. It is reactionary and elitist. Liberals aren't the elitists, the rich-rat-bastards-in-charge are!"

14. Love it, but I would really enjoy...
A show with Jim Hightower, or another of his ilk, to introduce an element of Southern populism into the mix.

Perhaps on Sundays, Air America could get some religious progressives to talk--Bishop John Shelby Spong or John Dear, perhaps.

In any case, I'm savoring this moment when we finally got a voice!!!

17. Janeane Garofalo is awesome!
I loved her for her one season on Saturday Night Live. I've been hearing rumors ever since that she is somewhat left of center politically. Now I've listened to her radio show twice and I am so impressed. Besides being a babe, she's also smart, knowledgeable, passionate and articulate. I think she's going to be a terrific liberal radio talk show host! She's my favorite one of the new ones, but I haven't heard the morning ones yet because I'm a night owl and I'm always "sawing logs" then. Randi Rhodes is awesome too, but she's not new to the talk-show-host format. I'm listening to her to satisfy my Malloy fix. She's kind of like a female Mike Malloy, a little less brash. As for Al Franken, another SNL alum, bless his heart, I can tell he's a little out of his element, but I'm sure he'll grow into his new role and become a terrific radio talk show host too.

Has anybody noticed that the radio stations Air America is on are all in blue states? They need to get on the air in red states too!

21. Not quite... Oregon is a real battleground
Out of state interests have literally spent hundreds of millions of dollars pumping up conservative causes in the last couple of decades in Oregon's voter inititave system. All that has turned Oregon into a complete financial disaster. Some of that was remedied when the ringleaders of the in-state Oregon neo-cons were indicted for fraud. We've still got big problems here, though. Enron owning Portland's electric utility and offers to purchase it by another Texas neo-con group, for example.

Every little bit helps here, and something as simple as adding Air America here in Portland could shift the balance just enough.

19. I haven't stopped listening since Wednesday
finally, i can listen to some political commentary and NOT have to get pissed that the truth is being mis-represented.
its such a relief from my normal politically-oriented stress.
plus, as ive mentioned several times on this board already, they play radiohead clips!
overall, i love everything about this show...
BUT
they need to expand to other cities...
Boston, Cleveland, Phili, etc....
it doesnt do much good, for example, to expose the lies in the Bush ad about Kerry's votes to "increase taxes" in only liberal areas.
but a good thing in moderation is better than nothing.

20. I have complaints about XM...
I bought an XM satellite radio system the other day so I could get Air America. I'm really pissed off at XM about three things:

1) They're carrying only the last hour of Randi Rhodes. For the first three hours, they're carrying Ed Schultz instead. I like Ed, but I like Randi a lot more. Besides, I can get Ed on Sirius. If they're going to carry somebody's show, they ought to carry ALL of it. So I'm turning off the XM and listening to Randi over the Internet for those first three hours.

2) They're cutting off the last hour of Janeane Garofalo to carry Alan Colmes instead. Again, if they're going to carry somebody's show, they ought to carry ALL of it. So I'm turning off the XM and listening to Janeane over the Internet for that final hour of her show.

3) XM calls its channel 167 "America Left." So WHAT THE F*** ARE THEY CARRYING ALAN COLMES ON THAT CHANNEL FOR? Do they think Colmes is a LIBERAL? I listened to a few minutes of Colmes last night while I was driving home. What I heard wasn't liberal or conservative, just bland and pointless. XM picks up Colmes from the Fox radio network, and we all know Fox isn't going to let TRUE liberalism get out.

I'm going to write to XM and complain.
