If you liked the fantasy films of the late 70's to early 80's, you'll love this film. If you like set design you'll love this film. So many of the objects in the film were things that were in my childhood homes. Anyway, I would recommend it for sure. Although the ending ties up kind of swift and neat, and I'm still wondering about the dogs.

1. My sister saw it.

Liked it. Not the kind of movies she likes, but she really enjoyed it. Went with her boyfriend. He picked the movie. I'm hoping to see it.

:hi:

2. It kind of has something for everyone.
Best "summer movie" I've seen in a long time. It helps that I have a wee bit of a crush on Coach Taylor.;)

3. So did (does) my sister
And I keep forgetting to ask her about what she thought of him in the movie.
She didn't mention him being in it. I hope she knows it was him!!! LOL

She liked him ever since she saw him in this show called "Homefront". I think that was the name of the show.

4. LOL..
I had a hard time not thinking of him as Coach. He was Jeff on "Homefront" and he's always been a little bit dreamy, at least in my opinion. Your sister has awesome taste!

6. They were, and most of them had no experience.
I watched the interview on Jimmy Kimmel with JJ Abrams and he said it was cool to watch them become actors.

8. Yes, Elle Fanning is in it. She was very good.
I liked her better than I usually like Dakota.

9. I like Dakota.
Haven't seen her in anything recently, but what a good child actress she was.

10. She was in the Twilight series of films.
Yes, I love those movies and books...

I think the problem was that she didn't fit the part as I envisioned it.

11. Haven't seen any of those films.
Not interested.

Yea, I hate when the actor is not who you envisioned.

16. Excellent film
Well in keeping with the book. I actually read the book again after the film, and enjoyed it much more the second time. The first time through it was slow going.

17. Can anybody play? I had a great time watching it.
Hits on all the Spielberg iconic moments, and I lol at the concept, "ET Eats People!" I loved the kids and the movie-making. Just good old movie making. SOmetime I'd like to see it again.

How weird is it to see a movie in which you recognize no one? The kids were great though. Reminded me of the fun Stephen King coming-of-age stories like Stand By Me and It.

18. You are welcome to! You have nailed it...
It was a Stand By Me/Close Encounters of the Third Kind/ET thing for me too. I really, really enjoyed it. And the special effects were very well done. Also, in watching the previews, I forget how much I enjoy the Transformer movies. :)

But neither of them knew what Super 8 meant. I'm old :-)
