One 'True Blood' Character Will Change Sexual Orientation

One 'True Blood' Character Will Change Sexual Orientation
While humans turning into supernatural characters is not something unusual on "True Blood", the fourth season will see a quite shocking transformation. TVLine reports one major character will change sexual preference, from a heterosexual into a gay.

It is not revealed which character will be involved in a same-sex romance, but the site claims that once fans get through with the initial shock of this matter, they will think that it "makes total sense". This twist will add another homosexual character on the show which already has gay Lafayette.

"True Blood" season 4 will premiere Sunday, June 26 on HBO. Eric and Sookie will get a lot closer as the vampires deal with witches who may find a way to kill them.

I'm trying to figure out who is left on the show that isn't gay. My money though is on Tara since for the last 3 seasons she's had the absolutely worst luck with men.

2. I have them but only really read them up to the season we are on with TV
I never heard of the books before the TV show and to be honest they don't have the details that the show has. But I will say after reading the 4th book I am extremely excited about the 4th season of True Blood!!!!!

3. The books came first. I was kind of bummed when the show fell
away from the books. Up until about book 11 they are awesome. I love the show, but it's quite a bit different than the books. I couldn't stand the Mary Ann storyline.

4. Yes but if he stayed 100% with the books we wouldn't still have Lafayette around
And Lafayette has to be my favorite character on that show.

5. I like him, don't get me wrong. I guess I am just loyal to the story line
in the books. That doesn't mean I won't be tuning in! :)

20. Finishing up Season 2
After a while, I was beginning to feel the Mary Ann bits were filler. I have a couple more episodes left, and it seems they're finally putting the Mary Ann thread into gear towards some kind of conclusion.

8. Didn't Sam have a sexual dream about he and Bill?
Edited on Fri Jun-17-11 09:02 AM by solara
I have read the first 8 books and I think that, for the most part, True Blood has improved on them dramatically. I am really looking forward to the fourth season.

9. I think this is one case where the show is much better than the books
I thought the books weren't very detailed - it was almost fluffy ready that focused mainly on Bill & Sookie with little details into the rest of Bon Temp. I suspect if the books were made into movies the movies would have followed the books in the same level of detail. By turning the books into a TV series, Alan Ball was able to really flesh out the books and build some of the secondary characters that get a mention. I heard the author is very happy with the series and has even done a cameo in one episode.

But I wonder how much longer the TV will follow the books. Although many substories have been created to add to the series, the TV show usually followed the books main plot line. Season 1 matched the first book with Sookie and Bill meeting along with the murders in Bon Temp. Season 2 and book 2 had the battle between the Dallas vamps and the religious crazies. Season 3 and book 3 was about the Jackson werewolves and the king of Mississippi. Previews show that the witches of book 4 will play a big roll in season 4. But season 5 brought in an outside love interest for Sookie - and with Bill, Eric and Alcide all pining for Sookie do we need one more in the mix?

13. Yeah Quinn is totally hot, but seriously, juggling
four supes (sometimes five) can get a bit tiresome..Although, if people are right -Sookie may soon be juggling 4 to 5 supes -and- her best friend haha

12. I totally agree with you
I hope they keep doing what they are doing. I really like what Ball is doing and I don't wonder that the author does too.

I am not sure if the Were-tiger is all that important to the story-line, especially as far as 'dating' Sookie is concerned, too many suitors can get tiresome, although I -did- find his relationship with the Weres very interesting.

22. Without the books there wouldn't be the show...so Books>Show forever.
:P It's a Buster Keaton v. Charlie Chaplin moment. Seriously though, when the show stops following the books in any way shape or form is when I'll stop watching it.

11. Tara. I mean, men have NOT exactly been her best thing.
Dead or otherwise! She'd be my guess.

Can't wait!

poor Tara

17. Absolutely love that little actress, though.
Maybe I shouldn't say "little" but hell, I'm old next to her. She's one of those actors that I expect I'd be astonished at how different she is when out of character.

Be a little odd if the two black characters were both gay, though.
