Wow! I heard a joke on Family Guy that wasn't simply a half-assed pop culture reference.

I wouldn't have believed it possible.

Well, it was clearly an anomaly, because I haven't heard any others before or since.

1. I haven't read anything this incredible since the time I saw the M&M rider on the Van Halen contract
That does get a tad old, doesn't it?

2. Old? I'd say so. Heck. they've dragged a decade out of the series so far.
I wouldn't have given it more than half a season.

3. It has been getting weaker and weaker
for the last two years. It's barely going to limp to the barn, but it will live in syndication forever off of about two seasons' worth of genuinely funny shows. At least there will be new Futurama episodes starting next week.

4. It's the seed scatter theory of comedy. Tell enough jokes you're bound to get one that's funny.
I'm just glad someone smart enough to get it was on hand to appreciate it. I believe it was God's providence that you smile at that moment.

Praise Jebus.

5. Oh wait. They just made fun of Shatner's overacting.
And (gasp) they threw in a bit about the red-shirt dying. Edgy!
