ROACH COACH stories. You know, get the right coach and the food ain't half bad. Share your tales.

I used to work at a company in Sunnyvale and started ordering a breakfast burrito every day...eggs, bacon, potatoes, cheese.

One day I went to the truck to order.

I'd barely opened my mouth and the owner handed me my burrito.

They cooked it on the way! It was HOT...not a leftover...and it was ready for me. I thought that was very cool.

This was a couple of decades ago...I don't really remember anything I ordered from the truck except those breakfast burritos, but I know that I never had a bad experience.

What about you?

2. The same for any fast food restaurant in the area...

...and unless people pack their own "healthy" lunches, it's the roach coach or fast food, because working a couple of notches above minimum wage, no one's going to a "healthy bistro." Roach coaches don't park outside of yuppie hives. They go where people work for a fucking living.

Our straw boss was French - born in Brittany - and Henri spoke good French. "Huevos, Henri?" "Oui,oui,Madame!" One day, I stumbled into the bright daylight (shop was a dark shithole), and Henry was wearing some flashy cheap sunglasses. "Bright future, Henri?" "Huh?" "Future so bright, ya gotta wear shades?" "Bright future? I had one of those, but I fucked it up - now I do this!"

4. The street food movement is fabulous in Seattle.

The latest development is a "last call" set-up in a parking lot that just runs late at night. Several trucks gather and set up tables and it's a late night food fair.

Frankly, it's fabulous.

8. I saw something similar on Dave Attel's show "Insomniac"...

...I can't remember the city but food vendors camped out to catch the "last call" crowd as they left the bars. Didn't look as nice as what you're describing, but it was the same thing.
