OK - who watched Falling Skies?
New series. Premiered last night on TNT. Produced by Spielberg.

Trailer -

Looked kinda like Walking Dead - except the surviving resistance fighters are battling aliens instead of zombies this time.

1. I dvr'd it.
Too many things to watch on Sunday nights. L&O: CI, In Plain Sight, Masterpiece, The Killing, The Glades...so I spend the rest of the week getting caught up.
Was it good?

5. 'Was it good'? I think it has potential.
The series starts 6 months after the invasion - '90% of humans have been wiped out' EOTWAWKI scenario.

Aliens came for the children - attach metal slug things with claws/tentacles, turning kids into slaves or slave army or something.

Filthy alien slime - kill them all!

2. it was pretty interesting, but I missed about 10 minutes of it

in the middle when my Dish Network had a catastrophic signal loss (meaning, I had to reboot the system...) So, I'll need to rewatch because I recorded the repeat on my DVR.

I think they took some inspiration from The Walking Dead, but the aliens are obviously intelligent & fast, while the zombies are slow & mindless.

The two leads - Noah Wylie & Moon Bloodgood - seem pretty good.

3. Looks like a mix.
District 9, Jericho, and Tomorrow, When the War Began.

I'll keep an eye on the reviews until the DVD's come out.

4. I liked it
It was just the pilot, so there was a TON of exposition, which is nescessary as we learn who the main characters are.

I hope that they give more of the civilians and fighters a role to play. Too many nameless people so far, but I guess that gives them plenty of redshirts to use up. Though one of the complaints about LOST was that there was this huge cast and only about 20 had speaking roles. Especially in the beginning, about 50 survivors but only 8 or so were actually speaking and asking questions. Hopefully more of the Falling Skies survivors will have roles to play. I do like how that older guy appeared in the second half, teaching the kids. He should have a nice role to play if they use him.

6. I only lasted five minutes
I didn't like how the show started 6 months into the series. It needed a beginning.

7. Independence Day, War of the Worlds - you know how the 'aliens crushing down the humans' part goes.
This is the aftermath - - obviously it's not a big budget major movie production - it's a series.

Of course - just like with any series - it's all about the characters. We'll see.

(I never lasted past 3 episodes of 'Lost' - hated it.)

I will give a 'two thumbs up' to Moon Bloodgood.

8. We watched it -- I'll probably continue to watch it, at least for
a few more episodes. There isn't much I like on TV anymore, so if I can find a good series, I'm happy. Spielberg's "Taken" a few years back took a while to develop, too (but I think I had better feelings about it after the first episode than I do about "Falling Skies").

I'd give it an 'eh'.

I can handle aliens, I can't handle walking dead. Way too freaked out by walking dead.
