Dang you Northwesterners and all your fricking snow! Dang you!
I was told that's the reason why my beloved cherries are $6.99 a pound. There were late spring blizzards in Washington and Oregon!

1. The ski slopes were open for Memorial Day.
I'm not kidding.

2. Try bicycle commuting in it
The weather has finally turned a little for the better in the last couple of weeks, but as of June 15, I rode wearing either my cold weather or foul weather gear all but two days of the year. The ever-helpful weather forecaster was trying last night to tell us how "average" June has been, weather-wise. I was reminded that on "average," every American has slightly more than one ovary and slightly less than one testicle.

Sorry your cherries are making you broke.

3. It's ok - I didn't realize what a mess you folks had out there
I just bought what I needed. They always have them in these giant 2-3lb bags but I know they'll go bad before I finish them all. So I just about 20 Cherries - which is about 1 serving of them. Then I enjoyed them for my lunch.

4. It's not a mess compared to Joplin or Minot
Those folks are having real problems. Rivers around here crested a little above flood stage and stayed there for a week or so, but the waters are receding now with little damage except to low-lying riverside sites.

Next week: Vacation in Grand Rapids, Michigan! I can't wait, and everyone's jealousy is soooo transparent.

5. Come to San Jose and gorge yourself on $2.99-a-pound cherries right up the street from me!
That'd do nicely for the first course... :loveya:
