2. Coincidently, summer is going to be short there.
It will be a Tuesday afternoon, in late July.

9. I don't think it will make it here.
It is reassuring to know that precipitation is in the neighborhood.

14. it's coming!
it actually wet the walk twice tonight! I bet we got 1/100 or maybe even 2!

sure smells good and it stirred up the critters, I think I have a coral snake behind/under a bookcase now:eyes:

young giant centipede was cruising the living room floor too, toads have been out under the porch lights for a few days now

8. My daughter, who has been living in NYC since January,
Edited on Wed Jun-29-11 10:32 PM by rainbow4321
came back to Texas yesterday--where it has been 100+ degrees, of course!

One of the first things she did today was look at my thermostat and nudge it up a bit..and then put on her hoodie sweatshirt before she went and got under the bed covers to watch TV!

She lived in a NYC apartment (she shared it with a couple friends) which had no central air, all she really had was a fan in her room. I think one friend had a window unit in her room.

It dawned on me that my daughter's body had adjusted to it being warm indoors so having my central air set on like 72 in my apartment felt a little chilly to her! My electric bill is never over $100/month so keeping it cooler doesn't mess with my electric bill (like it did when I lived in a 2 story house and the bill was over $300!)

She said that she was pretty happy to walk out of our airport into the TX heat and sun yesterday.
Today she told me that she "is not meant to be a Northeastener". She was born and raised here in TX and has missed our weather for a long time now!
