I let them talk and talk and talk and talk until their chests are puffed out and they can't imagine anyone disagreeing with their assessment of the state of the world. Then I very calmly, systematically, and logically, deconstruct their entire viewpoint until they either:

1. agree with me
2. make an excuse to leave abruptly

I have tons of conservative folks in my extended family. We don't talk much.
