The most dangerous profession: Teaching in Wisconsin

Yesterday my wife rented the DVD The Tourist with Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. For those who haven't seen it, I recommend this movie. But let me get to my point.

In the film, Johnny Depp "is" ( depending on what your definition of "Is" is) a math teacher from Madison, Wisconsin who is caught up in an international intrigue as he is mistaken (again, the "is" conundrum)for a person who as embezzled (stolen) billions of dollars from a ruthless pathological businessman and is being followed by Metropolitan Police for over 7 million pounds in unpaid taxes.

As a college math professor, Depp's character is originally presented as a sort of indecisive milque toast thrown into a li fraught with danger and intrigue. I had trouble buying this plot device, however because I kept thinking (and I finally have gotten to my point):

what could be a more dangerous profession than being a teacher in Wisconsin ?

and they have my utmost respect.
