I have a very serious question for anyone willing to listen... PART 1
Have you ever met someone and really felt a connection with them, yet you knew for sure that you are NEVER going to be more than friends?

I'm 22, and I have become friends with this pretty, smart, funny girl in one of my college classes. It wasn't to long after I met her that I realize we have a lot in common.

In fact, we are alike in so many ways it is starting to freak me out! We like a lot of the same TV shows, movies... we both like video games a lot, especially the good ol' 8-bit NES (a while back, I recommended she check out the original Metal Gear... and she said she had just bought it a few days ago...) ... there is rarely a dull moment in our conversations...

(This is going somewhere... keep reading...)

Today, she, I, and another college student (who turned out to be a 2nd cousin of mine... go figure) took a long roadtrip out of town to judge an academic competition. On the way back, I sat in the front seat with her; we had taken her car. We told jokes and stories all the way back, laughing all the way... I think my newfound cousin in the back seat started to get a little bored... and keep in mind that I am a VERY poor story teller and jokester, according to tons of friends and even my own family...

I told her a joke that made her laugh so hard her stomach started to hurt.

(This story is getting kind of long... see my next post: PART 2)

1. Waitaminute, she's pretty, smart, funny AND she likes video games?
And you haven't proposed to her yet?

Do you know what I would have GIVEN to find a girl like that when I was in college?

But I'll wait for the rest of your story...

3. Just to put things in perspective....
I didn't get married til 42 (so give yourself 20 MORE years), some people never meet "the one" ("Hi Neo!"). Anyway not to get too Vulcan on you, don't let your emotions get the best of you. Go with the flow, be in control, adjust expectations, have fun!

If none of this makes sense, just skip to the next message. And then read this again in 10 years.

6. DON'T
hesitate, don't waste any time. I've done this and it has caused me more misery than I can bear. If you can, let her know how you feel. I know this is daring, and puts you in a vulnerable position, but if I've learned anything, the risk of getting hurt can be worth it.
