5 a.m. this morning my two dogs jumped me. They were obviously panicked by something. At first I thought it might be a T'storm but the I realized that one of my heat detectors was chirping. This is a high pitched chirp like a cricket. The poor dogs would not stay in the house so I let them out and went about changing the battery in the detector which is no small feat as my ceilings are 9 feet high and I'm not good on ladders. Anyway, I got it done and the chirping stopped. My young dog, Shelta, came right in but my old dog, Tinker, was nowhere to be found. After some searching I found her way out in the field, sitting in the high grass. She would not come to me. I had to practically drag her back to the house. She has now attached herself to my hip. I have to figure that is was the high pitch chirp that spooked her.
