2. once, when I bought my own house
That's not what got me to keep the seat down, though. It was the time the big-ass rat came up the sewer pipe into my toilet, and was splashing around in there polishing its whiskers like a cartoon villain when I went to pee in the middle of the night. I heard this splashing, so I turned the light on to see if there was a leak or something. There was definitely something.

I'm really really glad I didn't sit down without looking that time.
