I made an Anne Frank joke - will I burn in hell now?
Tonight at dinner my daughter commented that she returned "Anne Frank's Diary" to the library. Then she confessed she was not able to finish "Anne Frank's Diary". "That's OK," I told her. "Anne Frank was not able to finish it either."

Then we got the giggles. To compound it, my wife got upset. She told us, "There is nothing funny about war. There is nothing funny about Auschwitz." Auschwitz? I never said anything about Auschwitz! I made a crack about Anne Frank. So then I stated the next thing that came to mind.

I said with an accent, "There is nothing tastier than an Australian sandwich. Piled high with a combination of Vegemite and tender, young koala meat, it is not your ordinary sandwich. It is an Aus-wich". Then my wife got the giggles with us.

Yes. I went there. I followed up my Anne Frank joke with an Auschwitz joke. I am most definitely going to burn in hell.

2. Well, I laughed, so...
If there is such a place, I guess I'm going also. :)

"Hitler? Who said anything about Hitler?"

3. Well, if Mel Brooks can come up with Springtime for Hitler....
I guess you can be forgiven. It is somewhat tasteless, but a lot of humor is.

Reminds me of one of my favorite quotes from Hawkeye Pierce (in the series, not the movie) "I can laugh or I can cry. I choose to laugh."
