Had a problem with internet for a long time and I switched over to Clear.net (4G internet). I call to cancel my internet and I'm told there's a "one time charge of $1.99" to shut it off.
They fucking charge you to shut it off! Fuck 'em. As soon as FIOS is available, they are completely out of my life.
1. They didn't offer the "squirrels" or "static" excuse?
they did with me. The entire 2010 snowbound winter I had almost no internet. Me and SpongeBob got to be really tight back then.
Comcast sucks on levels that others could not even fathom. They made everyone get some converter box but no one knew about it. Suddenly channels got the white screen of doom (MSNBC just happened to be the first news channel to be blocked) and you had to have a box to see it. It was free but you had to go get it. My YMCA was told that they had to have a box PER TV - that means every set on every treadmill. I had a tech coming back out one day so I asked if they could bring a convertor with them...no can do. Would be too complicated. The tech told me that they didn't even know about the converters until they day channels started disappearing.
One tech came several times to my house. One time he was sitting in the chair that I am sitting in now and I finally said, "Are you finished?" "I am calling in to report the job" "Okay....you are on hold on your own tech line?" "We don't have a tech line we have to call the same number you do"
I spent the trip to work every morning for about a month just getting some random phone center worker and just tearing into them for 15-20. It was a great release.
I was promised a total of 6 months of refunds but I don't think we ever saw a dime.
