Question about "Classic Rock"
Is it really that horrible that someone might have to "eat your lunch all by yourself"?

Please offer your questions and any questions that you too may have.

1. But if that person is "already gone"...
...then it's like the tree that falls in the forest with no one there to hear it. It still makes a sound, and the lunch is still eaten. It's a Zen thing. I don't imagine TEH LOUNGE will be able to fully grasp this unless you embellish your post with a few references to narwhals.

2. Could a narwhal "see my reflection in the snow covered hills"?
How is that even possible?

5. YES, but ONLY temporarily.
There have been numerous reports (including a special issue of National Geographic devoted exclusively to this subject) in which documented cases of narwhals seeing their reflection in the snow covered hills have been presented, but they can ONLY see them 'till the landslide brings them down.

Narwhals are also NOTORIOUSLY ill-equipped to sail through the changing ocean tides or handle the seasons of their lives.

:-)

3. It so happens that the author of those words was at least consistent in his view of how horrible
it would be to dine alone... I shared a lunch (or rather dessert) that I recall him referring to as "Thai Stick" with him many years ago, and he generously did not hoard that particular delicacy all by himself.

9. Did Jack T. write music for that? (Never saw that show)
I know he collaborated some with Frey during those years including Smuggler's Blues...Was that from that show?

MMMM , Thai Stick... (with requisite Homer Simpson voice and drool)

16. Yep, "Smuggler's Blues" was definitely from Miami Vice...
...and that was pretty much the beginning of the Miami Vice / Pumping Iron years for Frey.

25. Hi Potato ; you're welcome
Jack Tempchin also wrote Peaceful Easy Feeling and Slow Dancing, Swaying to the Music, besides the above mentioned Already Gone. I guess he wrote a bunch of stuff with Glenn Frey later on. Not sure what (if anything , but I think there were others) else he and Frey collaborated on.
His band stopped in town overnight way back when, and we were very flattered that everyone they'd asked recommended our band when they inquired about a good bar band to go see while they were here. Jack generously shared his ...er...um....herbal goodies during a break. Kicked our butts; I still remember that after all these years (late 70's , in fact, definitely '77). God knows what we sounded like that last set, but since the audience was usually as baked as we were, I guess it was OK.

13. OK, WAY earlier than "classic " rock, but...in a speculative answer to just who DID put the bomp,
Edited on Fri Aug-12-11 07:04 PM by abq e streeter
I remember someone writing that the late great Clarence Clemons actually did know who... In case he really did, it appears he has taken the answer to his grave. We may never know...an eternal mystery...

20. Nope ,but have this 45...Actually, I once did a lounge post asking why, especially as a musician
I had never met a girl named Rama Lama Ding Dong, or Sloopy (and one other I'm having a senior moment in trying to remember--it'll come to me eventually)

21. Thats funny because I've made that same comment myself.
wondering why all these musicians know girls with these bizarre names. I also mentioned Rama Lama Ding Dong and Sloopy, and I think I also had a third name that I also can't remember! (If you remember yours let me know; it's probably the same one.) :hi:
