Ridley Scott to direct new "Blade Runner" - will be a sequel or prequel
not sure yet. I think it starts with the premise that Deckard is a replicant.

:hide:

ok, just kidding on the premise.

Ridley Scott is returning to his roots, revisiting his definitive -- and beloved -- cyberpunk film "Blade Runner," for Alcon Entertainment.

Filmmakers haven't hired a writer yet, and are still figuring out what the story will be, producer Andrew Kosove told TheWrap Thursday.

"This is arguably the greatest science fiction movie ever made and we're not remaking it," he said. "It's a prequel or a sequel."

Alcon secured the rights to "Blade Runner" for prequels, sequels and other projects last March.

1. Bad Decision
Prequels, sequels years later after the original DO NOT WORK:

Godfather III
Star Wars Ep. I,II,III

Ugh! Stop with the sequels.

2. "It's a prequel or a sequel."
In other words, "We don't know what we're doing, but we got this property, and we're gonna rape the shit out of it for filthy lucre. Screw the legacy."

Justin Bieber will star as the teenage Deckard, who after being bitten by a vampire, cannot stop singing about robots. Miley Cyrus co-stars.

Available on Blu-Ray by Christmas.

Fuck you, Ridley.

5. WHY??????
I thought I couldn't get any more disgusted with Hollywood's persistent lack of original ideas (except for Christopher Nolan). But I am.

I don't care that it's "his" movie - Ridley Scott should leave his masterpiece alone. :grr:

6. let me guess...

The original was all noir. It had Vangelis for an awesome soundtrack. That right there was half the movie. It was dark, and sometimes slow.

The new one will suck. It'll be special effects, a "name brand" actor(s) and action..... puke.

11. Yeah, dodged a bullet there.
I'd love to see the Coen Brothers take a crack at it, of course.
