1. Parents didn't "manage to find" cigar boxes in the 1960s.
They were easier to get then--your dad was a regular-enough cigar smoker he bought them in boxes, or a neighbor (remember them?) was and saved the boxes for the neighborhood kids, or you could go to a corner cigar store and get an empty one for the asking.
4. Glad you didn't find one of my old cigar boxes, would've smelled
but not like cigars. Instead there would be a blend of cigar and dank icky bud. I know (now) that it's best to keep it in airtight glass containers, but back in the day...
