Want to feel old? (this year's Mindset list, Class of 2015)
Each August since 1998, Beloit College has released the Beloit College Mindset List, providing a look at the cultural touchstones that shape the lives of students entering college this fall.

1. There has always been an Internet ramp onto the information highway.

5. There have nearly always been at least two women on the Supreme Court, and women have always commanded U.S. Navy ships.

15. O.J. Simpson has always been looking for the killers of Nicole Simpson and Ronald Goldman.

23. The Communist Party has never been the official political party in Russia.

28. Jimmy Carter has always been a smiling elderly man who shows up on TV to promote fair elections and disaster relief.

42. Electric cars have always been humming in relative silence on the road.

47. No state has ever failed to observe Martin Luther King Day.

54. They’ve grown up with George Stephanopoulos as the Dick Clark of political analysts.

1. "Refer to LBJ, and they might assume you're talking about LeBron James."

3. I like to put things into perspective
For example, LBJ was president 24 years before they were born so for me the analog would be FDR. Now, when I hear FDR, I think of Roosevelt and not the Flight Data Recorder.

7. People have been mashing those two words together for 20 years already?

Dammit. x(

That, and Toyota's "Everyday" campaign in '97, threw both of those grammatical errors into the mainstream, making them "acceptable", and I've been battling them as an editor ever since. :banghead:

8. I'm starting to see things like that in headlines too.
There are always mistakes in print, but in the 1990s I don't recall once seeing a Washington Post headline containing an error such as who's instead of whose.

9. I love reading that every year.
And each time I read it, not only do I feel old, I feel more than one year older.

13. Reminds me of the South Park episode, Crème Fraiche
Randy has taken an erotic interest in cooking thanks to TV programs on the Food Network. Spending whole nights watching these shows inspires him to replicate the recipes and serve them to his family but leave the task of cleaning to them.
