An E- tool! this baby digs, saws and can be used as an ax! Man I never knew this thing even existed! It is a good thing my husband is a 8 year ex-marine! This is allot harder than it sounds to do!

6. wish I had one.
Back in Joplin, we had public transportation and I never learned to drive and since what happened there is no way to afford it. So to try and find a way to live again we are on foot to the West. the hard way. it is like President Obama said in the election " it is time for a Change"!

Glad that Wi-Fi is still available right now Resting for the night. Hoping we could find a ride for a few miles but we will just keep moving till we find some place to call home again. And I am glad to be able to get a Dell Inspiron 6000 for $100 it replace the computer that was lost. This is becoming very valuable for us to keep up on news and weather. I still have my old trusty JVC DVD camcorder that can also take still frame pics. This trip may be a way to use that Degree of mine after all.

Edit: Spelling error

With the diabetic neuropathy in my feet I can make maybe a quarter mile before I either have to sit or use some support.

13. Assuming that I inadvertently got involved in said hike to begin with....
An active charge card with a generous balance and a compass pointing me in the direction of the nearest level of civilization!

16. My husband has talked all about foot care for this
And we have got the pills you place in water to make sure we have drinking water no mater what. We were lucky to get a small tent from a guy for $5 and we also got sleeping bags for a buck a piece. Since we will need to stay warm while we sleep up there in the north, they will and have come in handy, there was rain last night.

18. Do you have a list of what you are bringing?
I hiked the entire AT(2000+ miles) quite some time ago.

There are many things that you will think that you need that you do not, and many things that you'll wish you had.

Post Offices will be your friend, you can have friends or family ship things to you ahead of your pace.

We both have Packs, sleeping bags, mess kits. I have the computer and camera, husband has the E-tool, we both take turns with the tent. We really don't have that much. Oh, and 3 sets of clothes and 5 sets of underwear and socks.

23. The answer is TP.
Experienced hiker...I won't even go on a day-hike without TP. It's good for making markers, it's okay for bandages/temporary wound stuffing, it makes a lovely pillow for the ride home...and it's fantastic for when you wander into the restroom at the rest-point 8 mi. from civilization and some jackass kid has pissed all over the TP in the can. It's light and it doesn't take up much room.

TP is an essential, much like water. I carry both with me all-the-time.
