1. haha, yes. I made the mistake of buying a cat bed too
Right now the bed is in my parents garage in a different state from the cat. The cat has ZERO interest in a "cat bed" when she has a perfectly good human bed to sleep on.

Did the cat drag it up there by himself????

I think not.

4. My cats are very good with using cat beds. I have two of them in my living room
because I hate cleaning up hair - so I have a catbead on my recliner (which I remove when I have guests) and one on my sofa along with a blanket on the one part of my sofa. It never fails to see my cats sleeping on one of them.

As annoying as they can be they keep it easy for me to clean up cat hair!

28. I do the same
I have the cat bed on the cat's favorite chair. She loves sleeping in the bed.

5. Only one of my cats ever liked the cat beds.
And, once he really started going downhill, he only used the one that was lined with a "Purr Pad". My remaining cat prefers the queen-size Sealy Posturepedic. And, she likes to sleep right smack in the middle of it.

Not sure if that's a cord coming out of it or something else.

9. My mom'c cousin had a much higher electric bill than usual
The utility company put a meter on her refrigerator and checked other electrical appliances- found nothing that could be the cause. But mom's cousin had noticed, and found it very odd, that her cat liked to sleep on one spot of the concrete patio near the gate, so she felt the spot- it was very warm, although that spot was always in the shade of a big tree. It turned out that electricity was "leaking" out of buried wiring for the walkway lights and heating up the ground. The repairman knew just where to dig , thanks to the cat!

11. Cats are heat-suckers.
The cat must have been disappointed after the electrician ruined his warm spot.

14. Don't put the cat bed on the floor.
Cats like to be high, or at least up off the floor.

Wish I had a grand piano catbed : )
Oh, I no longer have a cat : (
He had a store-bought cat bed up on a shelf, that was his very own shelf, but I am sure he could have cared less where the bed came from as long as he had his own shelf. His bed was about eye-level to me sitting in a chair.

I could never replace that cat, he was so special.

I still have not got around to getting rid of his cat bed and stuff, I still miss him too much for that.

15. That's true
Kidley's favorite sleeping spots change periodically, but they have included

a wicker stool that had a perfect indentation for a curled-up cat
a kitchen chair
the back of the couch
my desk

and of course, the ever-popular my bed.

17. Favorite cat roosting spots (besides Milo's heated bed):
The top of the refrigerator (I finally put another cat bed up there so they'd be more comfortable)
The piano bench
The top shelf of the cat gym
My bed
The highest shelf in my closet (Pixie likes to sleep on old handbags)
The radiator in the living room, next to the window with a view of the bird feeder
Dining room chairs (fur collects nicely on the needlepointed seats)

27. I really is hard to lose a kitty. Don't get rid of the cat stuff.
You are right, you will never replace your lost cat. But another cat is not a bad thing. I am so glad that I got another cat. He is so different than my other cats were, but still love him. It really is nice to have a furball in the house again. Try to open your heart again. You will not regret it.

19. My cats fight over who gets to sleep in the guitar case, LOL
Edited on Sat Oct-08-11 12:14 PM by BeHereNow
Don't know what it is about my guitar cases, but they are the bed of choice
for my five feline fur people.
What's really funny is that sometimes three of them will all
curl up together in ONE case.
A mass of tangled fur limbs and heads, can't tell what
belongs to who...

Love my fur people so much...
The guitars get dusty, but the fur people are napping in comfort
and we all have our priorities straight when it comes to fur people- right?

22. I bought my cat a bed last winter. I thought she'd like it. She doesn't.
Where does she prefer to sleep? In a floor pot that is half full of potting soil.

24. My cat loves ANY and ALL boxes. Or paper bags.
One time I got a large pizza from Round Table and set up the box like an "A-frame" house. She lived under it for WEEKS.

29. my cats sleep
Edited on Mon Oct-10-11 12:36 AM by MrsBrady
on the floor, under my desk, in the windows, in my bed, under my bed, and on each and every sitting item we have.
My desk chair, the piano bench, the piano. The top of the dresser, any clothes or towels left on the bed will be slept on.
Any dresser drawer left open will be slept in.
A shelf in the closet if it's left open.
One of my cats loves loves loves a satin/rayon sleeping bag. 104 degrees outside and she wants to sleep on the sleeping bag.
The foot stool. Clothes left on the floor will be slept on.

I used to have a cat bed, but gave it away with one of our rescues who liked to use it.

They like to play in an empty bathtub but I've never seen them sleep there...or the sinks.

Mine sleep in the middle of the floor a lot. Someone said they like it up high, and they do.
But what's with mine sleeping all over the floor, then?

The only place I've never seen them sleep is on top of wooden furniture and the kitchen cabinets.
I have to keep the laundry doors closed or they sleep on top of the clean clothes that I have on top of the dryer.

They think they own the place. The nerve.

I gave up a long time ago on cleaning up cat hair, because we also have 2 dogs. I get to it when I get to it.
