Anyone know a way to ramp up on programming synths?
As in, how do I get specific sounds out of my late-eighties, analog synth?

Or is it pretty much trial and error?

The user guide tells me nothing

1. What kind of synth?
And, what kind of sound are you going for?

2. Akai Analog (I forget the model # - - at work)
And trying to get the electric piano, organ, wurlitzer or deep purple sound...

3. Pure analog synths of that era weren't capable of really getting most of those sounds.
You might be able to come closest to some type of organ sound, but approximations of rhodes and wurlitzer pianos didn't really become possible until the advent of FM synthesis, sampling technology, and hybrids thereof.
