What was for dinner tonight DU?
We had one chateaubriant between the for of us for dinner. So we each got a slice. So per person it was not so expensive. It melted in my mouth. Seared on four sides in the frying pan for 3 minutes. Then into the oven at 375 for 20 minutes...to make it medium done. We also had new potatoes with chives and peas. Dad said it was the best meal I've made for him so far.

1. That sounds awesome! Just one minor detail, though...
Medium rare is the most you cook chateaubriand. Rare is even better!!

MMMMMMM, as in still mooing!!!!

6. Beef bourguignon over wide buttered whole wheat noodles
Gently simmered low and slow all afternoon.

Served it with fresh farmer's market organic broccoli (barely steamed) in a light a garlic butter glaze, and a loaf of French bread. My heathen husband and daughter complained about the pearl onions!

:eyes:

I have leftovers and I am thrilled!

19. My daughter HATES pearl onions, too.
She says eating a pearl onion is like unknowingly
biting into an eyeball.

15. Whoa... I'd call FEMA if that happened.

Look behind something in the refrigerator. You never know if there's just one more bottle hiding out in there.

14. Chicken salad, Italian bread, olive oil, champagne vinegar, garden salad.

The olive oil was a red pepper infused thing that tasted a lot better after a raft of wine somewhere in Napa County.

20. Chicken pullalo
Sauted onion, spices, basmati rice, peas, chopped tomatoes, cubed chicken, some water and a little bit of salt. One pot, cook 20 minutes. Easy and delicious. And, I have leftovers for lunch today. I should make it more often. Or, some version of it.
