Too scary for kids?
There's probably a reason most of the other moms don't like me.

1. I dunno, one of my sons' favorite Halloweens was when I made him up as a zombie.
We had just discovered you could do really creepy things with cotton and wax and Karo and dirt. He was about nine. It was fabulous. But my other son, who was six, had a remarkable reaction to being made up as a Borg (obviously this was a while back). I did a pretty good job with the implanted metal and eye (costume stuff) but so help me god, when he turned around and saw himself in the mirror he fainted! Really! I felt so bad; I'd never intended or imagined he'd be so disturbed and neither did he. He just wasn't far enough out of the magical thinking stage. So we went with something benign and waited a few more years.

If your kid's happy, I say have at it. But if they're worried aobut their kids then let her make a big joke out of it to them and save the scaring for those who know it's fun.

Happy Halloween!

2. That's quite a story, nola!
Younger daughter frightened for years of Halloween costumed kids, later even of costumed logo characters at ball games. One never knows!

3. Just got back from the party.
It was a blast. All the kids had fun, and only the younger siblings were really scared of me.

Plus, all the moms and I in this particular group like each other a lot.

:)
