it's not as hard as you would think. We had a horse barn on site when we bought this place so it was just a matter of adding runs for them. Most are gone in a week or so.
We wont take problem dogs..just the ones we can trust where the rescue needs the space
I'll post pics once they settle in and I can get them playing.
Put them both in one kennel...they should feel safer together..they are huddled in a corner together for now...the budster is checking them out.
This is why I love and HATE doing rescues..they break my heart and I want to keep all of them.Have 6 rescues I'm holding right now..I want them all.The goldens and three little what we call rat terriers and some shepperd mix.
They will probably all be gone in a week..replaced by 6 more..it breaks your heart.
I already have homes for the boys...the big pretty dogs are easy...try to be the rescue for the rat terriers no one wants...be the rescue for the abused shepperd that wants to eat everyone who gets near him(no longer take those)
It's not toys and food and all fun..we deal with disease and dogs who just arent social and fights and real life things people who glamorize rescue work dont realize.
Spent 600 a few weeks ago getting our terrior stitched back together from an attack.Spent over 200 last month getting shots for the boys
It's not just bringing them home and putting out food.
I put about 200 a month into food and upkeep beyond that....it isnt just wags of tails and smiles
