1. Victorian Holmes was a modern man for his times
Edited on Tue Nov-15-11 09:00 PM by Love Bug
In placing the character in current time it only makes sense he would take advantage of the technology available to him. The Victorian Holmes used telegrams, telephones, fingerprints, cast footprints, used a microscope, kept an index of all kinds of subjects, etc. He would have jumped at the chance to use the internet had it been available to him. You're just not used to seeing him outside of the Victorian trappings, that's all. The "Sherlock" series is great; give it a chance!

4. It was actually quite interesting. I thought it was going to devolve into
claptrap US sitcoms, but it didn't.

13. I especially liked the way the writers gave Watson a believable reason
for putting up with Holmes.

23. Never. But thanks for the warning! (I'm about to order the entire Basil Rathbone set.)
I read all SH when I was in 9th grade; I loved the setting to the extent of visiting "221-B Baker Street" as an adult.

Nothing will induce me to watch a modernized Holmes, put out there solely to grab the attention and $$ pledges of an a-historical generation.

16. No, my dear Watson, er, GreenPartyVoter! HE IS A computer! Cool pix, thanks.
BTW, is it getting cold over there yet?

We may have snow tomorrow and below freezing temps to make it stick. It's really chilly now.

So I'll get going on some more cooking...

:hi:

17. It was in the low 60s here the last few days! Going down to the mid-40s for the rest of the week. I
have one last shot to move my plants over to the new house. Have been so lazy about it. Turns out that it was far easier putting them in at age 30 than removing them at 40! Ugh!

And you're just a baby! I had to say that. Gee, I could be your mom!
