My son... tomorrow night ....I'm in heaven
He's a musican...
Plays heavy/thrash metal ...
But ... only listens to what I love ... what we love..

Two years ago ... He brought me to see Ian Anderson.
Last year ...Dylan.
Tomorrow ...Bob Seger...

"Wanna go see Bob Seger with me?"
Yes!!! I was in tears ...joy.
He's almost thirty ....
Takes his mother out on concert dates...

He was playing this as he ordered the tickets...

To this:

His hair is gone ....
But the songs remain the same...

I love you, Jonas...

I've always loved Seger ...
Strange.. I went through my longest Seger phase when he was about three-years-old.

Sometimes I wonder...

8. My son turned me on to Bob Seger....
and we saw The Color Purple together, in an gorgeous refurbished old old theater that had a huge organ being played before the move started.
I know just how you feel...sometimes very special people are born to us.

Oh Kali!

The hair thing ... he had to cut it about two years ago...
Shaved!:-(
It was because of his job...
But ... he grew up on the outside ... not on the inside...
After her brought me to see Dylan, I got him this book..

Looks like your boys need to drag you out of the house!
It's just that when I was younger ... of age...
I never saw the bands I loved...

Thank you...I know I'll have fun!

11. An Ian Anderson story you may enjoy
Many years ago, Tull played at the Apollo Stadium (a basketball stadium) in Adelaide, Australia. I think it was the TAAB tour. Everyone in the audience was in their teens or earlyish twenties. Except for one woman, who would have been about 50. She was accompanied by another younger woman and the physical similarities strongly suggested they were mother and daughter. Anderson spotted the older woman and several times went over and sung just to her. The woman was both embarrassed and thrilled at the same time. But it was a wonderful gesture by Ian and it put a smile on many faces.

Good on your son. He sounds like a wonderful guy.

That was sweet..
Jonas loves my music...and so it is ours
Thank you...
:loveya:
Music runs through the veins of all musicians ...
Yes, I must say that Jonas is somewhat as Ian..
Except that he loves it when I go out to see his band..
And I'm the only little old lady that he plays for...;-)
But there will come a time... I hope...when he'll gift another.

Yes....

you have a beautiful way with words.......

here's one of my favorites, hope you love it too --- Ian, Life's a Long Song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QE8YLPHZImw&feature=related

for some reason, I especially love big, tough scary guys who are sweet teddy bears underneath! Something especially tender about that......

16. Thank you for sharing that beautiful story...
SwissTony

My brother used to work at the Worcester Centrum many years ago..
It's now the DCU center where I saw Seger.
He had everything Tull...we both loved that band....
I can just imagine Ian doing such a thing...
Such a gifted and beautiful man ...

I know that his parents were never allowed to attend his shows...
He felt that he could not be himself...

That brought a song to my heart ... and mind..

18. My 9-member band had a "Parent's night". Almost everyone was from the local area except me.
.
A little lead-in info (this was held, BTW... at one of our regular bar gigs).
.
We were a fairly rowdy, raucous, heavy-innuendo all-original band (though
our soundman once called us the most "non-moving" band in recorded history --
the other singer kinda Deadhead-danced on stage, but the rest of us WERE
pretty static). Our first "gig" was at a Christmas party at the drummer's
house. My niece and nephew had given me a snowmen-and-Christmas-tree set
of boxer shorts. Everyone else showed up for the gig dressed really casual
except for me. I wore an uncharacteristic 3-pc pinstripe suit. The other
folks looked at me funny, but didn't say a word.
.
Halfway through the show, I announced to the crowd that I had stagefright
and, instead of imagining THEM in their underwear, I had decided to take
another route. And I took off my pants -- and did the rest of the show in
a 3-pc suit and Christmas undies.
.
The next rehearsal, I had to SWEAR that I would never take my pants off
onstage again. (They were all joking... ... ... well, almost HALF-joking.)
.
So, some of my patter with our crowds got a little suggestive... OK, a LOT
suggestive. The rhythm guitarist who wrote MOST of our songs and set up
the playlist, took me aside and suggested that, since the 'rents were all
there, I might want to watch my language and content a little bit.
.
I got really (mock) serious, thought about it for a minute, and told him, "I
can only follow ONE rule at a time -- I can either watch my language... or
I can keep my pants on.
.
He thought for a LONG pause, grinned and said, "SAY WHAT YOU WANT!!!
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
The crescendo ending of our opening number (which HE had written ) had
me shouting TWICE... "WHY DON'T YOU EAT ME?!?!? WHY DON'T YOU EAT ME?!?!?"
.
.
As I was ROARING that, I glanced over at him and he was looking nowhere but
at his shoes and HOWLING with laughter.
.
.
.
.
.
Those were VERY good days indeed.
.
.
.

22. Hey!
Skittles

Wow...what you just taught me!
I had no idea who Bob Hite was...
Had to research ... and sadly, he is gone.

But the strangest thing is that I saw him in '68.
Canned Heat, Spirit and J Geils...
An awesome show....

Except for J Geils...
I'll never forget....
The J Geils Blues Band...we were in a small auditorium...filled with freaks.
They came out with matching powder blue suits...
Just the sight of them turned me off to their music forever!

Bob Hite...I have the memory of man whose name I never knew until now...
Yes, my son really resembled him...
Before...

Very cool ... yes INDEED!
Thank you!

peace~

at the Orlando Calling festival. He sounded as great as ever. But as a lover of thrash metal, when do we get to hear your son? I know I'd like to...
