Jennifer Beals and Ilene Chaiken (the L Word creator) will be interviewed by Terry Gross on Fresh Aire tonight.

L-Word is the first lesbian tv series ever made.

3. What is your problem?
Some lesbians on this board are very glad that Beals has become an outspoken ally for us.

4. They call it the L-Word
Because lesbians are invisible in this society. The crew and cast are very aware that they are representing a community that has never been portrayed before.

5. On Love Scenes per Jennifer Beal
Edited on Tue Apr-06-04 08:44 PM by Bill of Rights
Before they began any filming the cast watched a compilation of love scenes, both lesbian and heterosexual. The actresses then analyzed the scenes. They found that when an actress was fearful, it was very obvious and ruined the flow of the story. So they all made a pact together that they would not be afraid so that the stories would be told.
