Saturday, December 3rd. The Weekend Edition of William Shakespeare's Thought For The Day.

"We have here recovered the most dangerous
piece of lechery that ever was known
in the Commonwealth"

Much Ado About Nothing, Act III, Scene 3, Lines 160-162.

Editorial note: The title of the play may be inapt, but the lines are highly appropriate. This guy deserves a suitably Elizabethan-era punishment...

1. My dear Aristus!
Those lines are indeed very apt! Just looking at his face gives me the creeps...

Thank you for doing these! It is always a treat, finding it on Saturday...

2. Always a pleasure, CalPeg. I'm glad you enjoy them so much.
WSTFTD seems to be losing its fan-base, though... :-(

And you know what? I think my step-daughter stole my Yale Shakespeare! It's not in my bookcase; kinda hard to miss, too. Huge freakin' thing...

I mean, I still have:

The Complete Works of William Shakespeare
The Riverside Shakespeare
and The Library Shakespeare,

but still...

3. I'm sorry to hear about your Yale Shakespeare...
Maybe you could encourage her to buy you a new one for Christmas? I mean, it's only fair!

I'm sorry too about your fan-base. *I* will always be here!

8. HEY! I found my Yale Shakespeare!
My step-daughter was, at least technically, to blame for its going missing; when the kids and grandkids were staying here, I had to crate up the books on the shelves in the guest room. My wife was terrified that one of the grandkids would pull the bookcase over onto himself, or something.

Well, the young'uns are gone now, and I moved the old bookcase into the master bedroom and started re-shelving the books. There it was, the Yale Shakespeare, at the bottom of the crate.

Life may resume its usual course now... B-)

7. So you're saying that without the Yale Shakespeare,
you'd sound like just the regular, garden-variety swine? :P
