5. I remember reading a book by a journalist who followed The Beatles
around on their first American tour and reported on the concerts and the behind-the scenes stuff. He stated that he'd been covering rock concerts since the early days of Elvis, and had never seen such a broad range of ages as at the Beatles' concerts. He reported on the irritation displayed by many of the audience members in their 20's and 30's with the screaming teens. The adults went to the concerts to actually listen to the music.
The reporter (I've forgotten his name) spoke with an adult in the audience, asking him why he was at a concert for what was still considered a teeny-bopper band. The guy said: "Their music makes me very happy!"
