3. They are. Which surprised me to no end when I learned that fact.

I had always assumed they were from someplace Southern and swampy like Louisiana bayou country. They sure sounded like they were.

6. Other. he was in my mother in law's class at El Cerrito High School.

I've known him & his brother since I helped their band load into & out of a gig near my house in Oakland when I was a kid. His brother Tom was close friends with one of my teachers in high school.

He has talked extensively in interviews about one of their shows at my high school that resulted in a riot. This was in the early 60's when they were just starting out.

He grew up in the bayous of northern California.
