Seriously - could YOU be bought for the right price.

Would it be a billion dollars?
Immortality?
Your own private island with Angelina Joile as your maidservant?

Is there ANYTHING out there that could sway you to vote for Bush!!

Confess it now?

6. NOTHING!
I'd rather be tied to a rack and stretched before I voted for bushco. I don't care what the offer is... they could give me godlike powers and I'd tell them to play in traffic before I gave my voice to those simians!

it would mean i would have sold my soul to get those powers. I'd feel like Faust at the end of it all... To hell with that, I'd rather die than give bushco one neuron of my support.

If someone were standing next to me in the voting booth, and were holding a gun to a loved one's head, saying "vote for Bush or s/he dies," I would vote for G.W. Bush.

Edit: if the gun were being held to MY head, and I was told to vote for Bush or die, I would die.

8. Everybody has a price. Honest people just have too high a price
for most people to pay.

I honestly don't know how much it would take, but it would be a significant sum.

It's hard to bandy about numbers when they're not real.

I think most people who say "Not for a million dollars!" are kidding themselves; they'd prolly at least seriously consider it for a tenth of that. But when it's a hypothetical question, and you're not really seeing the green, it's easy to say you wouldn't.

32. Oh yes
Old movie, my dad introduced me to it. In it a really rich guy adopts a bum and shows him how everyone, no matter whom, has a price. Hilarity. I was going to include a link to the imdb page about it, but it's only rated a 5.4 so no link for them!

Annd as a bonus, Ringo Starr's in it, too! Not that he's much of an actor, but still! :)

13. It's a silly question, but I'll play
Look, Kerry is almost certain to win my state (California) by a large margin. If someone were to offer me a significant sum of money (say, $100K or more) to vote for Bush when it wouldn't make a bit of difference to the outcome of the election but would help me provide for my kids (and put a dent in the staggering cost of sending them to college), I'd do it in a heartbeat. And let's face it, most of us would.

19. I was thinking the same thing, I'm in SC and my vote won't really
count so I could be bought off possibly but the Republican who tries to buy my vote would be really stupid since historically SC overwhelmingly votes for the Republican presidential candidate.

...I live in DC, so I could probably be bribed into it more easily than a lot of you because Bush has NO chance here. If I were in Florida, however, there just isn't enough money to get me to vote for that buffoon.

18. Reminds me of an anecdote I read
Supposedly about George Bernard Shaw. He asked a lady if she would have sex with him for some very large sum, and she nodded her assent. He asked if she would for a paltry sum, and she exclaimed indignantly, "Of course not! What do you think I am?" His reply was something like , "We've already established what you are, madam. We are just negotiating a price."

24. I hate to say this, but since I live in Nebraska....
my vote for Kerry basically means nothing anyway outside of personal satisfaction. I was one of the 33% who voted for Gore in 2000. Kerry's going to meet a similar fate here.

So, I'd take, say, a million bucks to vote for Bush. Maybe less.

Then, I'd go recruit a bunch of people to vote for Kerry to offset my one vote for Bush.

Values are relative in a cost/benefit sense. Most people won't acknowledge that, but it's true for the vast, vast majority.

34. Hmm . . . Maybe I should vote for him . . .
Pretty much everybody and everything I vote for loses.

My first presidential vote was for Carter in 80--lost.

I've probably been batting about .150 in various election since then.

So, if I vote for him, he has about an 85% chance of losing, no?

said he'd vote for Al Sharpton before he'd vote for Bush. That is a profound statement from him.

Could I be persuaded to vote for Bush? It would take several miracles, such as return to good health for me, my mom and my dad, and cures for my two brothers' disabilities so they'd never experience pain again.
