Do you like really aggressive men?
Not assholes, but aggressive men who know what they want, and perhaps how to get it?

1. All my friends are assholes. It can get annoying, but it's usually fun!

3. Nah, some girls really go for this type
Edited on Wed Apr-07-04 05:15 PM by m-jean03
As long as it's all consensual and part of the "game" it's all right. To each their own I suppose! Latin countries are FULL of this type. It's a little frightening until you realize they are all talk and they are simple enough to ignore.

4. Again I'm not saying 'asshole' but 'aggressive'
Say for example a guy who comes up to you, is forward and is very direct...not meek and timid

8. Yes, like many of these Latin/French men
Not assholes, just very horny and charming about it ;-)

Some of them were totally charming, but I always caught a glimpse of something that I didn't like -- namely that I was being seen as a piece of meat. Sure they knew what they wanted -- I just didn't really want to give it, because I knew they weren't interested in much else besides carnal relations. Whenever a guy is very aggressive, I am pretty cautious...

5. The type tends to take advantage...
...of women that don't necessarily know how to say 'no'.

I've known too many that pry themselves into sex, and too many that have fallen victim to it. It's coercion as far as I'm concerned.

I don't see how anyone secure in themselves needs an aggressive front to get what they want anyway. But then, I wouldn't consider rapists very secure people to begin with.

6. Actually most aggresive men I know
like aggressive women.

They want a woman who can keep up with them.

When I mean Aggressive, think "Big" from "Sex in the City". Then for aggresive women, think "Samantha." Big and Samantha would be much more realistic than Carrie and Big.

10. confidence is sexy
but even sexier is a man who genuinely likes and respects women. If "agressive" means that they are all about themselves and what they want, then no.

18. lol, rumguy
You are cute :-)

It's just with the way things are in the world right now --

Consequently DUers are sick of aggression of any kind. And it does seem to be
the aggressive men in power who are creating these hells.

Bad choice of words in war time on a liberal forum, I guess. Maybe on FR, you would get more response, absynthe? ;-) ;-) .

21. No.
I have an immediate, unreasoning, negative response to aggressive men. And it doesn't go away with time.

Aggression to me means physical and verbal domination. The need to be "alpha." The need to hold the power in a relationship.

22. depends I guess
My husband is very aggressive in the work force which is attractive to me because I'm not that way at all. However, I wouldn't be married to him if he were aggressive in our relationship. I'm very allergic to power struggles in personal relationships, whether it be friendships or intimate. He's the same way in that regard so we get along very well.

But I was raised with parents who had very strong opinions about the importance of equality in a relationship so that's all I've really known.

23. Not really
They have to have some semblance of confidence because I'm not aggressive, but I'm no wimpy pushover either. When I think of aggressive though, I think pushy A.H. which is definitely not what I like in a man. Sensitive and open and assertive- yes, but aggressive- no way!

They know what they want, how to get it, but they don't need to prove anything to anyone.

27. Confident and assertive
in the practial appliation of his goals. If he does that, actual aggression is very seldom needed to get what he wants. Same deal for women, btw.

Agressive people often come off as if they are *entitled* to treat others like dirt. Major turn off to me.
