10. I was speaking not of the history of the two
I meant that their lounge is more militaristic, like Sparta, while our lounge is more intellectual, like Athens. Bad analogy? Perhaps. But it was more of a social comment than a historical one.

25. He was a Democrat once. Wolfowitz probably was too.
So were a lot of the neo-cons and PNACers. Wolfy was a staffer for Scoop Jackson. If he'd have lived, Jackson himself might even have turned Republican.

I can't believe you people get booted so quickly, especially if you've tried several times. I'm approaching having posted almost 2000 posts.

I will admit, this is my second username. The first one I made it up to around 100 when I got into an altercation with someone who was talking about how much more intelligent liberals were than conservatives (sorta the same attitude our local twerp has about himself). So, I simply made a casual observation that if "we liberals" are so smart, how come we're getting our butts kicked at the polls. Innocent enough, right? You would have though I had pissed in the holy water. "What do you mean? blah blah blah", to which I noted that if we were really as smart as we claim to be, we would have convinced everyone to see things our way, that we would have used our superior intellect in such a way that those who formerly disagreed with us would have no choice but to see things our way. If we were really smart, we'd have figured out a way to do that.

I got tombstoned soon afterwards. I waited a while, re-registed, built up my post count just goofing off, and now I make under-the-table comments and ask questions that make them extremely uncomfortable, but I always leave myself with an out, or word it in such a way that they can't pin me down. I've got several on there now who've figured out I'm not one of them, but they can't pin me.

What a bunch of bull. :eyes:

...a lot of those dopes stick out like a sore thumb when they talk in the first person plural about what "we" are doing wrong, about how bad "we" look to "average Americans." Either they're dopes or they think people on DU are.

...we let them post here. And lots, too. Nothing like watching them slowly go insane posting stuff that goes against everything they believe in on a site they claim they don't like.

There is a reason I don't post on freep sites. I just don't like 'em. I like DU just fine, and have a lot of fun here. I guess they like perpetuating their fraud, and it makes them feel sneeky. It just makes me feel like they have no lives.
